People think more of you than what you may think

There have been times in church recently where my natural tendency to compare myself to others has made me feel rather down and hopeless. It doesn’t help that I can’t help but compare myself to those who are part of the ‘inner circle’ or clique. The truth is, this is just an illusion that it is likely that the inner circle also has yet another inner circle within it.

I had a chat with a good friend today who reminded me that actually, I (and you) are a blessing to the church. People think well of you and by not going to church-based events, you’ll be letting the body of Christ. Even though, this ‘inner circle’ may feel discouraging and become a source of fear and intimidation, people still appreciate you.

This was a real encouragement to hear from my conversation today, as I had no idea that by being open and honest with others about my struggles and concerns, I would be building them up and encouraging them.

We must remind ourselves of the bigger picture.
