Do we use LLM’s a little too much? Probably? I know I use it a lot throughout the working day.
My question is, should we use it as part of our research methods in academic research? I’m leaning towards no. These things are essentially massive black boxes, and we have no idea how they really work under-the-hood. Academics (experts) are essentially outsourcing their cognitive effort to something less sophisticated.
