When I’m in meetings, I find that I am quite quick to shy away from what I truly want to say.
Why is this, I think it is most likely caused y the fact that I’m too afraid of what others may think of me and not knowing when to add to the conversation (like picking up subtle cues).
Please don’t be afraid to speak up. They wanted you there in the first place so the appreciate whatever insight you have to offer. If they really didn’t care about your opinion, they wouldn’t ask you.
As for the latter, this is something you have always struggled with. You have no intention to speak over others and offend them. It’s just you didn’t time it right. Please don’t try to be a perfectionist. Everyone else in the room has there own issues which don’t really bother the majority of people.
