Today was a clear reminder as to why I’ve let my perfectionism become a persistent problem in my life.
Wanting to be right 100% of the time has led me to containly fail and look down on myself.
I frequently forget that in order to be an expert in something I have to play the role of the beginner. This doesn’t just apply to me but everyone
You simply can’t just skip a critical phase of life and immediacy become the expert.
You have to go through the hard times in order to learn and progress well. Simply avoiding the early stages and showing a lack of humility will lead you to fail more and to let yourself and others down.
To overcome this…
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help (show some humility)
- Be okay when things do go wrong. You can’t always be right
- Don’t set ridiculously high standards. This will only lead to disappointment and failure.
In all that you do, be content where you are right now!
Review your checkpoints!
