Today, I was reminded of a popular sitcom in the ’90s of a woman that would do everything she could to win over the approval of the people in her life. Not only was she putting them on a pedestal, but she was also trying to impress and be like them.
As a result of her wanting to impress them, things always went wrong and she never stopped making a fool of herself.
Worst of all, she failed to be herself.
I know for sure that I’m a bit lick this in my life. Far too often, I put the people on a pedestal
People may say well “how is that possible”
When we failed to be ourselves and strive to please other people, we are not allowing our natural resources to come about. We become a victim to other people of which we couldn’t possibly match.
The only person we should try to match is Christ. that way we will never fail and we’ll all be on the same page
